The designers were inspired by the studio’s 80-meter project called Ghost G250: the new yacht will also have a lightweight aluminum hull and carbon superstructure, however the yacht’s profile lines will help achieve lower drag for improved fuel efficiency and increased cruising speed.
“We don’t intend to replicate such a record breaking yacht, but rather honour the engineering prowess, long-range capability and sustainable high speed of the original,” explained McDiarmid. “Based on an extrapolated version of the Ghost G250 platform, we looked into the possibilities for a more efficient high-speed propulsion solution combined with increased levels of circularity and sustainability.”
